Kansas City Christian School is seeking a warm, responsible, and mission-aligned After School Care Associate to support our Elementary After Care Program for students in grades 1 through 6. This role is essential to providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students complete homework, engage in physical activity and creative play, all within the context of KCC's Christian mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise students in grades 1 through 6 during after school care hours, ensuring their safety and well being at all times
• Support a structured daily routine that includes homework time, physical activity, and creative play.
• Build positive, encouraging relationships with students that reflect a Christian model of care and character
• Assist students with homework and academic tasks as needed
• Lead or assist with age appropriate games, crafts, and enrichment activities
• Manage student check in and check out procedures, verifying authorized pickup and maintaining accurate daily attendance records
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with parents and guardians regarding their child's day, including any concerns
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe care space, including materials and supplies
• Enforce school behavior expectations consistently and with grace
• Respond appropriately to minor injuries or incidents and follow school protocol for reporting
• Collaborate with other After Care staff and elementary faculty to ensure a smooth transition from the school day into after care
• Support late pickup procedures in accordance with school policy

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college coursework or a degree in education, child development, or a related field preferred
• Prior experience working with elementary age children in a school, childcare, or camp setting preferred
• Genuine, personal Christian faith and a willingness to model that faith for students
• Strong communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues
• Ability to manage groups of children with patience, warmth, and firm, consistent boundaries
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass a background check
• Reliable availability for the full after care window on scheduled school days

Schedule

Part time, Monday through Friday (preferred), approximately 3:00 to 6:00 PM on full school days, following the KCC academic calendar and quarterly registration structure. We will also consider candidates that may only be available 2-4 days a week as well. Please communicate your availability. 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds
• Ability to respond quickly to student needs, including in the event of an emergency

Position Overview

Kansas City Christian School is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Bus Driver to primarily serve our North Bus Route. This position is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school each day while ensuring timely and reliable service. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support school events and athletic activities.

Route & Schedule

• Morning Pick-Up:
• Location: Open Door Baptist Church
  3033 N 103rd Terrace, Kansas City, KS
• Time: 7:15 AM
• Afternoon Drop-Off:
• Departure from KCC: 3:10 PM
• Drop-off completion: approximately 3:40–3:45 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport students along the assigned route
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and student-friendly environment
• Follow all traffic laws and school transportation policies
• Conduct basic pre- and post-route vehicle checks
• Communicate promptly with school administration regarding delays or concerns

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold a CDL; however, applicants willing to obtain a CDL are encouraged to apply, with reimbursement available
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded
• Agrees with our Statement of Faith and Human Dignity Policies
• Experience driving a bus or large vehicle preferred but not required

Compensation

• $100 per day for driving both morning and afternoon routes
• A tuition discount may be considered in place of daily pay
